A super location for a stay near Motovun. Nena is an exceptional host who kindly took our bikes in and locked them away in the garage. She took us to the village in her car which is a 25 min walk up the road. She also made us coffee and pastry breakfast.

This apartment is in a beautiful location if you’d like to unwind after a long day of seeing Motovun. My partner and I biked to Motovun, then checked in around 7 pm, and left in the morning via the Parenzana (additional perk that the path is right by). The apartment is a bit far from Motovun by foot, took us approximately 15 minute by bike (and that was going downhill). We didn’t stay long in the morning and did not get to experience the complimentary breakfast that many other reviews referred to. The apartment did have an electric kettle (but no instant coffee) and a mini fridge. Everything was very clean and we loved sitting in the backyard, watching the stars.

Great place for lovers of medieval hill-top towns and truffles. One can enjoy just a stroll through the town and views of surroundings for an hour, can have a great dining experience or stay for days and explore Istria, one of the prettiest and welcoming places on earth. "Medieval" and "hill-top" also mean that you walk a lot on rugged cobblestone, you walk uphill and climb stairs, and "great place" means it's crowded in the high season (summer). Still, one of the better places to escape to from crowded coastal towns, focused primarily on visitors' wallets.

A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore.
A classic medieval town that was so fun to explore. Be sure to visit the cathedral (opened about 10 during our visit) and (carefully) climb the bell tower for a spectacular view of the valley and beyond. We visited in late October when some businesses had closed for the season and others were winding down. We would visit again in September.

Great location in old town.
Great location in old town. Wonderful people and amazing views from the walls and restaurants. Wine and truffle country and free samples were almost too much. Lol
Tiny and hilly old stone streets within a walled city oozing with history.
Our host was gracious, laid back and a pleasure to just chat with.
We would highly recommend.

It's a spectacular location on a hilltop with amazing views all-round of mountainous country including vineyards & olive groves. Delicious and reasonably-priced restaurants at the very top, friendly people, tons of charm. Nearby are several vineyards & the local wines are very nice, and affordable. Easy day trips to Pula, Rovinj, Buzet & others.

This was my first time in Istria.
This was my first time in Istria. We checked out Kozlovic winery, we sampled their delicious wine and had a tour. View is spectacular. Had dinner in Motovun, tried gnocchi with truffles, very tasty! Pictures of the amazing views do not do it justice. Will definitely visit again!

Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria.
Motovun is lovely little town in the heart of Istria. I really liked it. The prices at restaurants in general in comparison to offer are a bit limited. However we managed to find something for ourselves at the end. We missed bakeries. We did not find single one so we travelled to Pazin on our way back home and found amazing bakery.
Perhaps tourism board should create a special list with all possible places providing food and menu of same, all in one place saves from walking especially if one has slight walking disabilities.
Everything else is lovely and look forward returning to Istria
We did not have breakfast, because we left early for Plitvice. The guesthouse was gorgeous, and our rooms each had a terrace with a spectacular view over the valley below. It was the perfect spot to share a bottle of wine and some truffle tapenade from a local winery. You do have to leave your car outside the walls, but the owner met us at the parking lot with her car to help with luggage. We enjoyed walking the walls of Motovun and exploring the hill town of Groznjan on the way there. We had a great dinner at Konobo Mondo.
The perfect modern Villa, fantastic peaceful location with views of Motovun and the valley below. The beds are so comfortable, linen and towels high quality. Bathrooms , showers baths all modern. Air conditioning, sofa and tv area, pool table we used a lot, outside eating area, shaded seating area and the pool and loungers were wonderful! The managing agent and the owner are really friendly and attentive, lovely genuine people. We had the perfect week and will be back again!
This hotel was fantastic from booking to leaving. We ran into their driver at the bottom of the hill once we arrived and he gave us fantastic detail on where to park and then picked us up (thank goodness we did not have to walk with our bags) and took us straight up to the hotel at the top of the hill. It’s a very quaint hotel and our room was clean and spacious with a large terrace. It is close to everything and everyone we encountered were very kind and helpful.
Great location near a local wedding venue and walking distance to shops and sights. Stunning views from the hotel.
Beautiful room and hotel owner was fantastic, his restaurant was closed on the day we arrived but he organised his chef to cook us a 3 course meal which was absolutely delicious - best meal of our whole stay. So kind of him to do that and saved us a walk to find a restaurant. Would definitely return in the future.
Irene has reated a unique and highly charming experience. You can see many (no exaggeration) successful extra elements that she has put obvious thought into to help her guests feel welcome and comfortable. Fresh ripe fruit waiting on the table, a selection of teas, charming decorating touches and the best views of the valleys surrounding Motovun. She was also very obliging upon check in.
Perfect location! Nice large open space! The view was spectacular. The check in went very well. The apartment has a lot of character. The bath was charming. We didn't use the common space as we were only there for one night, but it looked really inviting! I had a peak into the downstairs apartment- fantastic! Would highly recommend these apartments for your stay in Motovun.
Beautiful clean rooms in probably the best location in Motovun. Warm hospitality and an amazing breakfast. Truffles were not quite in season but they were able to find a white truffle and scramble it with eggs for us to try and we greatly enjoyed it! The lodging is connected to a small truffle and oil shop where guests receive a 10% discount!
Spacious lovely room in a rural setting. Walkable. Hot tub takes a while to warm up so set it, go for supper, and then dip when you get back. I read some comments about dogs barking and we had a little bit of that but this region is truffle-hunting region; there are more dogs than people so I’m sure they are heard everywhere.
It was perfect, like a dream place. Every detail was just perfect - general spirit, great furnished, lights, candles, coffee machine and millk in the fridge! Wine on the table. Music ♥️ View, place to drink coffee outside on the morning. Eco as well which is not common in Croatia.
Loggia apartment is amazing! I lament not staying for more than one night. The apartment is clean, roomy, and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring Motovun and the views were spectacular!
The host went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was a good one..
A unique place for a peaceful rest among beautiful vineyards. Perfect hotel for couples, beautiful design. We could come with a dog which is very important to us. The hotel staff is very nice and they create a great atmosphere. Thank you Drago for great breakfast service :)
The superb location, you are in the centre of Motovun with breathtaking views over the valley and beyond. The terrace is a great space, we enjoyed BBQs and then the hot tub! the house is really well equipped and furnished to a high standard whilst being really comfortable.
Motovun! The city is magical!
The terrace and the patio of the apartment is wonderful, wish we could relax on it forever. Highly recommend this place if you love Istra and Motovun. And it is also a great location for someone who is just starting to explore Istra.
Very nice stay in a quiet place with lovely hosts and good breakfast. We stayed just a night and arrived late, so cannot tell you about diner, but we heard from other guest it was great :)
Very close to Motovun with a great view ..
This is a large, spacious room really in the middle of so much. The hostess, Irena, was welcoming and helpful. Parking was extra but much less that the city rate.
